"Thousands gathered in Ijebu Ode on Saturday for the annual Ojude Oba festival, a colourful cultural celebration held a day after Eid al-Adha to honour the Ijebu people's heritage and their Awujale (king). Footage shows participants mounted on horses parading along the city, as well as crowds of spectators watching the festivities. "It brings together people across the extended families and lineages," Arimoro Adetutu, a royal family member, remarked. "Ojude Oba Festival brings together Muslims and Christians. There is no discrimination during this festival; everyone collaborates," Arowosafe Ilesanmi, another royal family member, added. Furthermore, a tourist expressed joy over the 'massive display' of culture and tradition at the festival, describing it as a 'wonderful experience. "I love it. I love the fact that every family member is coming out [...] in style. I really love," she continued. The Ojude Oba Festival is a lively annual celebration in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria, dedicated to honouring the Awujale, the esteemed ruler of Ijebuland.
