"Thousands of Paris Saint-Germain football club fans clashed with police on the streets of the French capital after the team's historic victory in the Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday night. Footage shows police officers removing fans from the streets and using tear gas to disperse crowds gathered across the city to celebrate the victory. In response, some fans set fire to public property and threw bottles and fireworks at officers throughout the evening. According to preliminary reports, 416 people have been arrested nationwide, including 280 in Paris alone, after celebrations descended into violence. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed seven officers were injured during clashes, with major unrest around the Champs-Elysees and near the Parc des Princes. This is the second year in a row that PSG's European Championship victory has led to widespread riots in the French capital, following a similar destructive wave of celebrations after their 2015 tournament victory. Paris city officials have reportedly confirmed that the planned victory parade for the team at the Champ de Mars will take place as scheduled, despite recent unrest, with heavy security measures in place."
