"Iranian state television on Sunday aired new footage showing vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz as maritime traffic gradually resumed after US President Donald Trump announced the lifting of the naval blockade on Iran. Footage shows three vessels anchored in the strategic waterway while a speedboat passes nearby. The exact location and date of the footage could not be independently verified. Earlier on Sunday, the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said 28 vessels, including oil tankers and container ships, had transited the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iranian authorities. President Trump announced on Friday that the United States would lift its naval blockade on Iranian ports, allowing vessels stranded by the restrictions to resume navigation. In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the blockade had been 'illegal' from the outset and stressed that Tehran would judge the decision based on its implementation. The Iranian spokesperson added that communication and messages continue to be exchanged between Tehran and Washington, but no final agreement has been reached. The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28. Tehran subsequently carried out retaliatory strikes against Israel and other targets in the region. On April 8, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran to make way for negotiations, later extending it 'until Tehran presents its proposals,' with no specific deadline set. Pakistan-mediated talks between the United States and Iran held in Islamabad on April 11 ended without a breakthrough, and a second round remains stalled despite continued diplomatic efforts."
