"Huge columns of smoke were seen rising over several areas in Tyre following Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Sunday. The Israeli military said on Sunday its forces launched strikes in Tyre against alleged 'Hezbollah command centres'. On April 15, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, and on April 23 he confirmed a three-week extension following direct Washington-hosted talks between Lebanese and Israeli officials. In mid-May, the United States announced a further 45-day extension. Meanwhile, the Israeli military has established a 'Yellow Line' in southern Lebanon to prevent residents from returning to areas under its control. The measure echoes a tactic previously used in the Gaza Strip, where civilians are barred from entering designated zones under ceasefire agreements."
