"Dozens of voters attended the Corferias fairgrounds, the main voting center in Bogota, accompanied by their dogs on election day on Sunday, in a display of the family atmosphere surrounding the vote. Footage shows voters arriving with their dogs and lining up to receive their ballots accompanied by their pets in this celebration of democracy. Several voters said that the day represents an opportunity to exercise their right to vote while spending time with their loved ones, including pets. Resident Adriana Hernandez stated that attending Corferias has become a family tradition, praising the organization at the centre and noting that voting alongside her pets makes the day "a pretty cool plan." Another voter, Felipe, explained that many people take advantage of the visit to the voting centre as a family outing. In his case, he commented that he walked from his home with his dog and planned to continue the day with recreational activities after casting his vote. "We come walking, obviously it's the moment to take the dog out, now I go out to vote on the other side which is my polling place and surely afterwards to have some coffee or something, because also in nearby stores with the voting certificate they give you something extra," he said. Local Patricia Castiblanco described the date as "a day of democracy" and "a day of celebration," while Marta Lucia Cano expressed her excitement about participating in the company of her pet, adding that she observed numerous citizens doing the same around the venue. Cano also showed a scarf she made featuring the national colours as a way to express her pride in Colombia. "That's called feeling proud of our country, of our nationality," she commented. Corferias, considered the largest voting centre in Bogota, recorded a constant influx of citizens from early hours, many of whom arrived to the polls with their dogs to perform their civic duty in a festive atmosphere."
