"Colombian presidential candidate Ivan Cepeda warned on Sunday of possible foreign interference in the country’s election, after Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa appeared to endorse his rival Abelardo de la Espriella. "Foreign governments are meddling in our elections, as has happened with Mr President Noboa," said the Historical Pact candidate. His comments came after Noboa congratulated de la Espriella on social media over his first-round result, with the right-wing candidate leading on more than 43 percent of the vote. Noboa also called Cepeda a 'sore loser'. Cepeda also questioned the transparency of de la Espriella’s campaign financing and called for an audit. "Have ours been a dance of billions of pesos, as we have seen in other presidential campaigns that have spent, including that of Mr de la Espriella, <...> I would like an audit to be conducted," he said. Cepeda then criticised his runoff rival, warning that an Espriella presidency would roll back the social policies of the current government. "Mr de la Espriella represents <...> fascism, mafia fascism <...> The scope, advances, and achievements in social matters of our government, under a possible mandate of Mr de la Espriella, will be pulverised," he said. The left-wing candidate thanked social organisations, unions and his campaign team, hailing the role of popular mobilisation in his presidential bid. Preliminary results from Colombia’s National Registry put de la Espriella ahead with around 43.7 percent of the vote, while Cepeda followed with about 40.9 percent. The two candidates will face each other in a runoff on June 21."
