"Paris Saint-Germain players carried the UEFA Champions League trophy into Elysee Palace on Sunday as French President Emmanuel Macron hosted the squad following their second consecutive European title. Footage shows PSG players posing with the trophy on the steps of the presidential residence before entering the palace for an official reception hosted by Macron. The reception comes after a turbulent night across France. One person was killed and 219 were injured nationwide following celebrations of PSG’s Champions League triumph, with nearly 800 arrested, according to media reports. Macron praised the team's achievement as a showcase of French football excellence and congratulated head coach Luis Enrique, the players and club officials for delivering another European title. However, he condemned the riots, calling them 'unacceptable', and unrelated to football. PSG claimed the UEFA Champions League title on Saturday in Budapest, defeating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw following extra time. The victory secured the Paris club's second consecutive Champions League crown."
