Rain likely to batter upper parts of Pakistan from tomorrow: PMD

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday said upper parts of Pakistan were expected to experience rain and thunderstorm from Tuesday to Friday, as the westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts. According to the Met Office, under the influence of this weather system, scattered dust/thunderstorm-rain – with few heavy falls and hailstorm – is expected in Islamabad and Punjab’s Rawalpindi, Lahore, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad,  Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib and Chiniot. Rain will hit Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan and Layyah as well during the said time period with occasional gaps, the weather advisory department forecast. The PMD said scattered Rain wind/thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir’s Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur. Rain wind and thunderstorm is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit and Shigar as well with occasional gaps. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s various parts including Chitral, Swat, Battagram, Kohat, DI Khan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan may receive scattered rain wind/thunderstorm (with few heavyfalls and hailstorm). The Met Office said Balochistan’s northeastern parts including Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Qillah Saifullah, Barkhan and Dera Bugti will receive rain from June 2 to 4. Dust/thunderstorm-rain is expected in upper Sindh from tomorrow will Thursday.
