James Murray has been shut down in a fiery GB News clash after a damning new poll revealed that union workers would "trust Reform UK" more than Labour. Speaking to GB News, the newly appointed Health Secretary assured that the "job of the Labour Party" is to "make sure that we prove to union members that what we are doing is making their lives better". Interjecting Mr Murray, host Dawn Neesom argued: "I'm sorry, Mr Murray, but that doesn't appear to be working, does it? "This is a recent poll, you've been in power for nearly two years now, and you are losing voters. You're losing the working class Labour members." TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say Mr Murray defended the Government further, assuring Dawn: "We're two years into a five-year parliament, and we always said that things would take time to turn around. "What we have to do over the course of this Parliament is prove to people that we are moving the country in a better direction." The Health Secretary told GB News that union members will be most concerned about their minimum wage, backed by the Government. He explained: "A lot of union members, I'm sure, will care about the increases to the minimum wage that Labour has supported. "Reform opposed the increases to workers rights and employment rights. And union members, like everyone else, will care about the NHS." Mr Murray said the Labour Government is carrying out critical work to improve the NHS "for everyone, including union members". He said: "Union members will care about the NHS, and I know that because of what we've done in the first two years, the investment put into the NHS. "Over half a million people have come off those waiting lists, that improves the health service for everyone in the country, including union members, and that's the argument we have to make ahead of the next general election." Alex asked the Health Secretary: "We have the next batch of Mandelson files coming out today - are you concerned about any communication you might have had with Lord Mandelson? "And do you think this is going to just completely distract your party again as the psychodrama continues?" Mr Murray responded: "I'm not personally concerned about that, but it is important that we get these messages out in the public. "People expect transparency over what's happened, and as a Government, we've committed to putting out all of the information required by the humble address, which was the vote in Parliament to agree that this information was going to be published. So it's really important that we're doing that." The Health Secretary made clear that the appointment of Lord Mandelson was "a mistake", something Sir Keir has acknowledged. He concluded: "There's going to be an unprecedented amount of information put in the public domain, and it's worth me just emphasising that we are very clear that the appointment of Lord Mandelson was wrong. It was a mistake. "And Keir Starmer couldn't be clearer about that he regrets that decision, appointing Lord Mandelson, that was a mistake.
