MANILA, Philippines — Despite the enhanced southwest monsoon, heat indices in several areas nationwide continued to reach dangerous levels on Monday, June 1, with CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur hitting 46ºC, the state weather bureau said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) tags indices ranging from 42°C to 51°C as in the “danger” level due to increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could then lead to heat stroke.
