Newly-appointed Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig,Jr., vowed to strictly implement the five guiding principles of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to maintain peace and order in the Metro East. Buslig made the assurance on his first day as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of EPD where he was given Arrival Honors Monday morning at EPD Multi-Purpose Hall, Caruncho Ave., Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City and held a Talk-to-Men Program.Buslig, a member of the PNP Kaagapay Class of 1996, was referring to observance of basic crime prevention and solution; full adherence to Police Operational Procedures (POP) in the performance of duty; doing what is right at all times; non-involvement in any illegal activities; and full respect for personal belief and religion while staying close to GOD as the guiding principles of the NCRPO. Members of the EPD Command Group led by Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, deputy district director for Administration (DDDA) together with the District Staff, Chiefs of Police of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City Police Stations, Force Commander of the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), as well as other key officers, Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs), and Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) of EPD Headquarters warmly welcomed Buslig. He also warned that rogue police officers have no place in the Eastern Police District and within the Philippine National Police (PNP), stressing that accountability and discipline will be strictly enforced. He likewise assured that personnel who perform their duties properly will be duly recognized and commended.PBGEN Buslig, Jr., also introduced his flagship program and emerging best practice, the EPD SHIELD, which stands for:S – Securing BarangayH – High Visibility PolicyI – Eliminate Opportunity for CriminalsE – Engage and Empower CommunitiesL – Leveraging TechnologyD – Decisive OperationsBuslig further announced that the EPD SHIELD will be formally launched in the coming days as part of the District’s strengthened crime prevention and public safety initiatives.He emphasized his leadership philosophy as a team player, urging all personnel to actively participate, take ownership of their responsibilities, and support one another to ensure the success of the Eastern Police District. The Eastern Police District welcomes PBGEN Buslig Jr., and expresses full support for his leadership as it continues to strengthen peace and order, crime prevention efforts, and public service delivery across its area of responsibility.
