MANILA, Philippines -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the National Capital Region (NCR) Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off 2026 to prepare public school classrooms for this school year. The President was joined by Education Secretary Sonny Angara during the Brigada Eskwela at Kapitbahayan Elementary School in Navotas City. Carrying the theme "Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman," this year’s Brigada Eskwela is being held nationwide from June 1 to 5 in preparation for the opening of classes on June 8. During the event, Marcos inspected ongoing school preparations and safety facilities, and visited partner organizations’ booths. The President also observed an ongoing "Tara, Basa!" session that prepares Grade 2 learners to be grade-level ready, and participated in literacy activities, including a storytelling session with selected Grade 1 learners.
