'Choose France' - Macron defends 'Europe preference' as he announces $93 bln of foreign investment for 'AI, data centres'

"President Emmanuel Macron said foreign companies have pledged to invest €93 billion ($108.19 billion) in France, during a business conference at Versailles on Monday. "It is obviously a lot of AI, data centres with, I would say, two massive players, which are Softbank and Mubadala MGX, who have made very large investments," Macron said while addressing the 'Choose France' business summit. “Europe has perhaps been too naive up to now. But this European preference, we are going to defend it. And without it, well, unfair competition will crush us," he added. This comes after Japanese investment giant SoftBank announced an investment of up to €75 billion to build AI data centres in France."
