MANILA, Philippines — Former Public Works secretary Manuel Bonoan was discharged from the Philippine National Police General Hospital on Tuesday, a day after he was confined following a "near stroke" caused by a spike in his blood pressure. Bonoan was released at 1:23 p.m. to personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. Medical staff said Bonoan's blood pressure has since stabilized. He is en route to the Sandiganbayan in an ambulance to comply with the court order for his detention.
