City of Vienna Ends Long-Standing Practice of Multi-Year Funding in the Cultural Sector

The long-standing practice of multi-year funding by the City of Vienna in the cultural sector has come to an end. According to a decision made in the cultural committee on Tuesday, funding contracts in all areas, whether performing arts, visual arts, film, or literature, will generally only be concluded for one year. Multi-year funding contracts are thus only possible in exceptional cases. The city council is expected to approve this regulation in June.
