"Civil Guard officers assisted firefighting operations during a wildfire in Spain's El Valle on Tuesday, as crews worked to contain the blaze and secure surrounding areas. Footage shows Civil Guard officers supporting emergency teams as smoke rises from the affected hillside. The fire in the Carrascoy–El Valle area has scorched around 110 hectares of pine forest and shrubland and triggered a large-scale emergency response, with roughly 250 ground personnel and 12 aerial units deployed. Authorities also carried out precautionary evacuations of around 50 families, affecting more than 100 residents in nearby districts, including Los Garres and San Jose de la Montana. The fire broke out during a severe orange weather alert for extreme heat, with temperatures in Murcia reaching over 39°C (102°F). Strong winds further complicated early containment efforts. Officials said the priority was to protect nearby communities and prevent the fire from reaching residential zones. Local services also managed traffic and restricted access to high-risk areas. Spain's Military Emergencies Unit (UME) reinforced operations overnight, deploying around 170 troops and 50 vehicles to support firefighting efforts.
