CMAT's Reaction To Olivia Rodrigo Covering Her In The Live Lounge Was Just Epic

CMAT on stage at Coachella in April CMAT had a very emotional response to hearing Olivia Rodrigo covering one of her songs on Radio 1’s Live Lounge . On Tuesday evening, the Irish singer-songwriter posted a short clip of herself looking stunned while playing out Olivia’s cover of When A Good Man Cries, taken from her Ivor Novello award-winning album Euro-Country, before bursting into celebration. “She sang it better than me so now I’m toast,” she joked in the post’s caption, before addressing Olivia directly and saying: “Pints?” “I LITERALLY LOVE U SM,” the Good 4 U singer then responded in the comments, to which CMAT wrote back: “I’m free to hang out literally whenever.” View this post on Instagram Speaking live on Radio 1 on Tuesday, Olivia said that she’d discovered CMAT’s music “ a few months ago” and “really, really loves” it. “I just think she’s such an incredible, unique songwriter,” the Grammy winner beamed. “I think nobody writes songs like her right now, and she’s just a force. Beautiful, beautiful voice, so I hope I did this song justice.” Take a listen to Olivia Rodrigo’s take on CMAT’s When A Good Man Cries below: Olivia’s CMAT cover comes just over a week after Euro-Country was awarded the Best Album title at the Ivor Novellos. Days later, the Stay For Something singer was compelled to speak out about body-shaming comments that were being made about her online in the wake of her Radio 1 Big Weekend performance. “It is literally so boring for me, a gorgeous genius, to keep having to yap on about how horribly I am treated because of my body,” she lamented. “I would love to stop but I cannot because it keeps happening, at an accelerating and worsening pace as I become more famous.” Meanwhile, former Glastonbury headliner Olivia is now gearing up for the release of her third album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love later this week.
