"Thousands of presidential candidate Roberto Sanchez's supporters joined one of his largest campaign rallies in Cusco on Tuesday, in the final stretch of Peru's runoff. Footage shows crowds gathering with flags and banners in the historic Andean city, as Sanchez took the stage alongside regional leaders and supporters. Peruvian leftist candidate accused political opponents and institutions of conspiring against his movement, framing his campaign as a struggle for Indigenous and rural representation. "The Attorney General, together with the mafia-like parliamentary majority and the media, conspired against the only possible alliance of this Quechua, Aymara and Amazonian people," Sanchez said. "It is an alliance for life, for justice, for the recovery of our homeland." The rally comes just days before voters cast ballots in a highly polarised election, with Sanchez and his rival Keiko Fujimori intensifying their campaigns nationwide ahead of Sunday's runoff. The Cusco rally is part of Sanchez’s nationwide tour before the June 7 election, as he seeks to consolidate support in rural strongholds ahead of a tightly contested runoff vote expected next Sunday. The rally comes as polls show a closely contested race, with a significant number of undecided voters expected to play a decisive role. Fujimori is seeking Peru's presidency for the fourth time, while Sanchez, a former minister and congressman, is making his first appearance in a presidential runoff."
