"The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, arrived this Wednesday in New Delhi, India, to develop a strategic five-day work agenda. She was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by Dr. Aman Puri, who serves as Deputy Secretary and Head of the South America Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India. Also present were officials from the foreign ministry and the ambassador of the Asian country in Venezuela, Ashok Babu. The Venezuelan delegation was composed of Foreign Minister Ivan Gil, the Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jimenez, among others. "Happy to be here in such a brave, spiritual country and (...) an economic power that today plays a very relevant role in the world," Delcy said upon her arrival. "Happy to bring the message of Venezuela, which is the message of peace, the message of friendship and cooperation. We are going to have a very fruitful agenda, where I hope to address areas of cooperation for the benefit of the main needs of the people of Venezuela," she added. As part of the visit, high-level meetings are planned between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the acting president, Delcy Rodriguez. The talks are expected to address issues related to energy security, oil cooperation, trade, and investment. The trip takes place in a context of strengthening energy ties between both countries, where India, the most populous nation in the world, has increased its purchases of Venezuelan crude to compensate for supply disruptions resulting from the conflict in the Middle East."
