Aftermath unveiled - Footage captures massive destruction following Iranian drone attack on Kuwait Airport

"The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior on Wednesday released footage showing extensive damage at Kuwait International Airport following an Iranian drone attack that left at least 63 people injured. The video also shows a large hole in one of the airport terminals, with debris scattered around the area. Civil defence personnel, police officers, and military units are seen assessing the damage and securing the area. According to a statement from the ministry, Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah visited Terminal 1 to inspect the damage caused by what officials described as the 'heinous Iranian aggression' and to assess its impact on airport facilities and infrastructure. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said the drone attack on Kuwait International Airport injured 63 people, some of them seriously. The attack forced authorities to suspend airport operations for several hours and divert incoming flights before normal services resumed later. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Iranian attack targeted vital civilian facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in one death and damage to key infrastructure and diplomatic missions. Later, the ministry reportedly summoned Iran's chargé d'affaires and delivered a formal protest over the attacks. In response, Kuwait announced a reduction in the number of Iranian embassy staff and declared two members of the Iranian diplomatic mission persona non grata. The attack drew widespread condemnation across the Gulf and the wider Arab world. Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman denounced the strike as a 'flagrant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty'. Egypt and Jordan also condemned the attack. Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched a military response following a U.S. attack on an oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday evening, claiming its operation targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet and a military airbase. However, US Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected those claims, stating that the Fifth Fleet headquarters and regional military facilities were not hit. In a statement, CENTCOM said two Iranian missiles fired toward Kuwait failed to reach their target or broke apart in flight, while three missiles launched toward Bahrain were intercepted by US and Bahraini air defence systems. The developments come amid continued tensions between Iran and the United States despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since April 8. Talks between the two sides are ongoing, though no significant breakthrough has been reported."
