Strikes and smoke - Israeli military releases footage of coordinated attacks on more than 20 alleged Hezbollah sites

"Israeli forces claimed to have destroyed more than 20 Hezbollah infrastructure sites during an overnight operation in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, using six tonnes of explosives to demolish the targets. Footage released on Thursday shows a series of large explosions at multiple locations across southern Lebanon. The exact date and location of the footage can not be independently verified. According to the Israel Defence Forces, reservists from the 679th Yiftah Brigade and soldiers from the Hashmonaim Brigade took part in the operation. The military said troops destroyed several weapons depots, including a warehouse allegedly containing ammunition and explosive devices, before carrying out the coordinated demolitions. The operation comes amid continued Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon despite ongoing diplomatic efforts. On Monday, US President Donald Trump announced a new ceasefire agreement aimed at halting attacks between the two sides. On April 15, he announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. The truce was later extended for three weeks following talks hosted by Washington, before another 45-day extension was announced in mid-May. Both sides have since accused each other of violating the agreement. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has designated what it calls the 'Yellow Line' in southern Lebanon, restricting residents from returning to certain areas under its control. The measure is part of a tactic previously used in the Gaza Strip, where it marks zones under its control and blocks civilian access, with reports indicating it covers around 10 percent of Lebanon's territory. Lebanese officials have criticised Israel's continued military presence in parts of southern Lebanon. Hezbollah maintains that Israeli forces must fully withdraw from Lebanese territory."
