"Plumes of thick smoke rose over several southern Lebanon towns on Thursday as Israeli airstrikes hit the Nabatieh district despite a renewed US-brokered ceasefire agreement. Footage shows smoke billowing following the attacks in Kfar Tebnit, the Ali al-Taher Heights, Nabatieh al-Fouqa, Mifdoun, and Zawtar. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes targeting the towns of Aadshit and Deir al-Zahrani. The agency also reported that an Israeli drone struck the vicinity of the Farah amusement park on the Zawtar–Nabatieh road, while two additional drone strikes targeted the Kfarjoz area of Nabatieh. On Thursday, the Israeli military said it would continue its operations in southern Lebanon, warning residents against returning to areas south of the Al-Zahrani River, despite a ceasefire agreement reached late Wednesday in Washington. The developments come after US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday a new ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, with Hezbollah immediately rejecting the deal, describing the proposal as a 'total farce'. On Monday night, it emerged that Trump had a 'heated' call with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu - with some outlets reporting that Trump told Netanyahu he was 'f***ing crazy' - over threats to hit Beirut's southern suburbs - which Iran said would halt peace talks.
