"The Venezuelan president, Delcy Rodriguez, held a meeting on Thursday with India's Minister of Petroleum and Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, as part of her visit to expand bilateral cooperation. The Venezuelan delegation that participated in the meeting in New Delhi included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Gil; the Deputy Minister of Hydrocarbons Geopolitics, Eduardo Ramirez; and the Deputy Minister for Asia, Middle East, and Oceania, Andrea Corao, among others. On the Indian side, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was accompanied by Secretaries Nira Mittal, Esa Srivastava, and Rasal Dwivedi. High-level corporate executives from India's most important energy sector companies also participated. According to a statement from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the meeting aimed to "capitalize on the complementarities" between both nations, with the goal of creating new investment and technological development schemes in the hydrocarbons area. The ruling party described India's economy as "one of the fastest-growing in the current era" with "sustained demand for energy resources" and noted that this aligns with "Venezuela's export potential." The agenda of the Venezuelan delegation in India will extend until June 7 and includes strategic meetings with high-level representatives of the Government and the energy sector of that country. Rodriguez reiterated during the visit her willingness to strengthen bilateral ties with a view to promoting a relationship of "shared prosperity" between both nations and contributing to the development of the Global South."
