Korea's industry ministry said Friday that it has discussed energy security cooperation with Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia's national oil company. During a meeting with Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani, downstream president for Saudi Aramco, in Seoul earlier in the day, Vice Industry Minister Moon Shin-hak stressed the importance of a stable crude oil and naphtha supply. Moon stressed that the two countries should cooperate in plant construction, as well as strategic oil storage and crude oil-storing infrastructure. The vice minister also called on Saudi Aramco to help Korea secure access to energy resources in case of disruption in energy supply chains.
