'Shove Your Division': Trump Government Sparks Angry Backlash By Wading Into Henry Nowak Row

The family of Henry Nowak leave Downing Street after meeting with Keir Starmer. Donald Trump’s government has triggered a furious backlash after wading into the political row following the murder of Henry Nowak. The US State Department backed right-wing claims that there is now “two-tier policing” in the UK and suggested the country was experiencing “civilisational decline”. Henry was stabbed to death by Vickrum Digwa, who then falsely told the police that he had been the victim of racism. Eighteen-year-old Henry was then arrested and handcuffed by police as he lay dying. Digwa was jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years at Southampton Crown Court on Monday. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has said the case shows there is anti-white prejudice and “two-tier policing” in Britain – a claim rejected by Keir Starmer, who met with Henry’s family in Downing Street yesterday. In a post on X, the US State Department said: “Ideological conditioning and two-tiered policing are glaring symptoms of civilisational decline. They must be rejected across the West. “The United States sends our condolences to the family of Henry Nowak and the people of the United Kingdom at this troubling time.” Ideological conditioning and two-tiered policing are glaring symptoms of civilizational decline. Fuck you, you MAGA fascists — Greg Mulholland (@GregMulholland1) June 5, 2026 Oh shove your division, Britain won’t import your MAGA crap. We will grieve Henry and investigate what went wrong. We will not turn into MAGA — Harry Eccles (@Heccles94) June 4, 2026 This has got FUCK ALL to do with you! There is NO TWO-TIER policing in the UK. There is certainly TWO-TIER policing in the US. Racist ICE Agents, are dragging innocent people off the streets and their homes, and interning them in warehouses, simply for being non-white. — Bernard McEldowney (@BernardMcEldown) June 4, 2026 The Nowak family specifically asked for his tragic murder to not be politicised. Not that you care about decency or respect. — Flatpack Fellamunculus ☠️ (@tryingattimes) June 4, 2026 Foreign governments should be extremely cautious about using inflammatory language about “civilisational decline” and “two-tier policing” in relation to an ongoing UK case. It risks escalating tensions and undermining due process rather than contributing anything constructive. — Nikki (@gllnkk) June 4, 2026 Subscribe to Commons People , the podcast that makes politics easy.
