MANILA, Philippines — The International Criminal Court (ICC) is hiring Tagalog and Cebuano or Bisaya interpreters ahead of the trial of former president Rodrigo Duterte in The Hague, Netherlands, opening job opportunities for Filipinos with language and translation expertise. The vacancies were posted on the ICC’s website on Thursday, nearly six months before Duterte’s trial is scheduled to begin on Nov. 30, 2026. The ICC said paraprofessional interpreter positions carry a minimum net annual salary of €55,665, while associate court interpreter posts offer at least €71,173 a year. According to the job postings, successful applicants will provide interpretation and translation services for court proceedings, investigations and witness interviews, and may be assigned remotely, in the field, or at the ICC headquarters in The Hague as the court prepares for Duterte’s trial over alleged crimes against humanity linked to his anti-drug campaign.
