"State Secretary in the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs Raed Arafat told reporters that - at time of publication - there was no information about how a reported 'sea drone' had hit Constanta port, or how it got there - during a briefing early on Friday. "What happened? How did it get there? That no longer falls under our competence, nor can we say until the whole situation and its entire trajectory are very carefully investigated," he said. Earlier, a huge blast was reported at the port, with a naval drone - or unmanned attack boat - behind the blast. The Defence Ministry said it was "of the type used in the war in Ukraine.” Local media, quoting a military official, pointed to a Ukrainian Magura-type boat being to blame although this was not officially confirmed by the Romanian side. Last Friday, a drone incident was also reported in Romania, after a UAV hit an apartment block. Western officials blamed Russia, while Romania said it was 'not an attack' and President Nicosur Dan later said the drone had likely been knocked off course by Ukrainian air defences."
