Kara David is grieving the loss of Luz Clarito Balagtas, the young man featured in her I-Witness documentary "Kapit-Hininga" who passed away after battling tuberculosis. On Facebook, the veteran Kapuso journalist shared the heartbreaking news that Balagtas died on May 29 at the age of 27. Remembering him in an emotional tribute, Kara David identified Luz as the documentary subject whose struggle with tuberculosis became the focus of the I-Witness episode. She recalled that Luz's condition was especially difficult because he was unable to obtain enough medication for his illness. Kara David also reflected on the lasting impact the documentary had on her, describing it as one of the stories that stirred a mix of emotions. Alongside her message, Kara posted a video containing scenes from "Kapit-Hininga" as well as footage from her recent visit to Balagtas' wake. According to the journalist, Luz's tuberculosis diagnosis was confirmed in August 2025. His story was later featured in the documentary, which shed light on the challenges faced by patients struggling to access proper treatment. The full episode of "Kapit-Hininga" remains available for viewing on the official I-Witness YouTube channel. RELATED CONTENT: The saddest and most shocking celebrity deaths
