"The stunning 'Circus Idol 2026' showcasing this year's winners from around the globe was seen at the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue on Sunday. Footage shows spectacular acrobatic feats and performances involving animals, including zebras and seals, as well as the presentation of awards. “There have never been any questions about that in the Russian circus - it has always been very strong. But now production, scenery, costumes, and how quickly and smoothly teams work together are also improving,” said one performer Alexander Pchelnikov. Sergio Paolo, a juggler from Chile, said it was 'so special'. "When you are on this stage, you always have in mind that the best artists in the world have also been here. So you have a special tension, and special - I don’t know how to describe it - nerves, but to be an artist here at Circus Idol Festival is so special,” he said. Edgard Zapashny, the head of the Great Moscow State Circus, added “our festival is unique because on this small 13-metre stage we have gathered the best performers from around the world. The most difficult acrobatic acts are performed here, and artists come not simply to participate, but to win and leave their mark in the history of circus art." The X World Circus Art Festival Idol-2026 runs from May 30 to July 12, bringing together 170 artists from 12 countries. The festival has been held in Moscow since 2013, showcasing new artistic visions and themes."
