"Drones captured spectacular moments of herds of White Right Whales while approaching the El Doradillo beach in Puerto Madryn in southern Argentina, as the birthing season of the mammals started. Footage filmed on Sunday shows whales swimming to the waters of the coastline to give birth to their calves as visitors and locals were shocked by the breathtaking views. “You feel like part of the environment. And when you see the whales, even though we see them often, it's like it also brings you that, that happiness, that peace, that harmony of seeing them again and of all that migratory path they take to get here, from so far away where they are in the summer, and we have them here just 20 metres away," said Juan Carlos Lobos, a tour guide. According to experts, the geography and the environment of El Doradillo Beach make it a perfect breeding ground for whales near the shoreline. El Dorado Beach is one of the few places where the birthing process can be seen from the coastline. “El Doradillo has that particularity. Being able to see the whales very close and see them in their natural behaviour, seeing them mate, seeing their nursing," explained Maria Cabrera, Director of Conservation of the Municipality of Puerto Madryn. Hundreds of whales arrive every year from their feeding grounds to the shores of the Peninsula Valdes Protected Natural Area, in the province of Chubut."
