Riverside fan zone to bring World Cup spirit to Seoul

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will launch a World Cup-themed fan zone at Ttukseom Hangang Park on Friday, providing a dedicated space for residents to rally behind the Korean national football team. Running through June 28, the event coincides with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Dubbed the "Hangang Play Place World Cup Pop-up," the fan zone will take over the park’s multipurpose indoor cultural venue. The facility is one of several riverside spaces along the capital's central waterway managed by the city’s Future Hangang Headquarters. Programming will anchor on Korea’s three group stage matches. Fans can view live broadcasts on a large indoor LED screen during the scheduled games: Friday’s opener against the Czech Republic at 11 a.m., a June 19 matchup with Mexico at 10 a.m. and a June 25 clash against South Africa at 10 a.m. While attendance is open to the general public, reserved seating for up to 100 people per match is available via advance registration.
