"Two Russian Pacific Fleet corvettes arrived at a port in Mumbai on Sunday for a friendly visit aimed at strengthening naval and defence ties between Moscow and New Delhi. Footage shows Russian and Indian naval officers meeting aboard the corvette Sovershennyy. Russian Consul General Ivan Fetisov is also seen speaking with officers travelling aboard the vessels. "This once again clearly demonstrates the development of mutual relations between Russia and India, not only in the economic, political, trade, and energy spheres, but also in the sphere of military cooperation," Fetisov said, describing the visit as a 'big event'. The Russian naval detachment includes the Pacific Fleet corvettes Sovershennyy and Rezkiy. The vessels have been conducting a long-distance deployment involving exercises and calls at ports in friendly countries. Russia’s embassy says Russian or Soviet-designed systems account for more than 60 percent of India’s military equipment. Military cooperation between the two countries is guided by a ten-year programme covering 2021 to 2031, with a focus on joint research, development, production and support for weapons and military equipment."
