"Palestinians held a funeral in Gaza City on Sunday for members of a family killed in an Israeli strike on a tent sheltering displaced people. Footage shows mourners gathering around the bodies at Al-Shifa Hospital and performing funeral prayers, as relatives wept beside them. One mourner is seen carrying the body of a young girl before the victims were taken for burial. Nisreen Qadoum said her brother, Abdullah Riyad Qadoum, and his daughter Mariam were among those killed, along with other children from the family. "As you can see, the bloodshed continues; martyrs fall every day, and this time the martyr was no ordinary person, but one of the finest and most promising of our youth," Nisreen said. Palestinian media reported that the strike hit a tent sheltering displaced members of the Qadoum family near the Al-Rimal Boys’ Preparatory School in western Gaza City on Saturday evening. Gaza health officials said at least seven people were killed and 15 others wounded, some of them children. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and accused Israel of targeting displaced civilians. It called on mediators and the international community to intervene and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. The Israeli military said the strike targeted 'terrorists', but provided no further details about their identities or the basis for the attack. The war began after the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed around 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage, according to Israeli figures. Israel subsequently launched a large-scale military campaign in Gaza. Palestinian health authorities say nearly 73,000 people have been killed since the war began. A US-brokered ceasefire remains formally in place, although Israeli strikes have continued as negotiations over disarmament, troop withdrawals and Gaza’s future governance remain unresolved."
