'Truly extraordinary match!' - Tennis fans fill Tribune Concorde as Alexander Zverev claims first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros

"Thousands of fans packed the Tribune Concorde at Roland Garros in Paris on Sunday to watch third seed Alexander Zverev defeat Italy's Flavio Cobolli in a tight five-set final, securing the first Grand Slam title of his career. Footage shows spectators filling the 3,800-seat venue, watching the match on big screens while cheering and applauding the players, with many remaining to pose for photos after the game. "We're really happy with the match and that Zverev won. We were on the edge of our seats during the fourth set—it was a close one," said a spectator. "We were rooting for Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was in the tournament and lost to Cobolli," said a fan from Quebec, who came to support Canada's Aliassime. "In the end, it was Zverev, but he deserved to win—he played really, really well. It was a truly extraordinary match." 29-year-old Zverev Alexander Zverev defeated first-time Grand Slam finalist Flavio Cobolli in over four hours at Philippe-Chatrier, sealing a 3–2 victory (6–1, 4–6, 6–4, 6–7(5), 6–1) to claim his maiden major title. Cobolli, despite falling short of his first Grand Slam trophy, impressed with victories over seeds including Felix Auger-Aliassime and Learner Tien, and is set to reach a career-high ATP ranking. The Roland Garros, or French Open 2026, runs in the French capital from May 24 to June 7."
