UAE-Saudi operation foils attempt to smuggle over 267,000 amphetamine pills

Abu Dhabi: The National Anti-Narcotics Authority, in coordination with Dubai Police General Headquarters, has foiled an attempt to smuggle 267,300 amphetamine pills. The operation was carried out through joint security cooperation between UAE authorities and the Saudi Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. Based on shared intelligence, authorities successfully intercepted the shipment before it could be distributed and arrested all members of the criminal network involved in the smuggling attempt. The suspects are nationals of an Arab country. The Authority stated that proactively disrupting such criminal operations reflects the advanced level of coordination, field monitoring, and information exchange between regional and international security agencies. These efforts contribute to strengthening community protection systems and enhancing joint action against drug trafficking. The General Directorate of Narcotics Control at the Saudi Ministry of Interior reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining ongoing coordination with partner countries to monitor and combat criminal activities targeting communities and youth. The Directorate added that the operation forms part of continued cooperation between the UAE and Saudi Arabia to address drug-related threats and strengthen preventive and enforcement measures.
