'No end to the war, no truce… it's all a lie!' - Six killed, dozens injured after Israeli airstrike hits displacement camp in Gaza City

"At least six people were killed, and several others were injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent housing displaced people in Gaza City on Saturday.

 Footage shows ambulances rushing to the site of the destroyed displacement tent, with blood visible on the ground. Victims are transported from the scene to the hospital, while grieving relatives mourn those who lost their lives. 

 "We were sitting there (before the strike). The owner of this tent is blind. The strike hit, and the man who was performing ablutions there was hit; the man who was filling the water container was injured, and the man who was fetching something was injured. That is what happened. There is no safety, no end to the war, and no truce. It is all a lie," recounted an eyewitness. "There is no ceasefire. Every day, a number of martyrs fall. There are people in their tents, or children standing in queues for water, or sitting in the streets because of the summer heat and they are being bombed," shared a resident. According to reports, the strike hit a tent housing displaced people in Al-Rimal neighbourhood in the west of the city, injuring at least 15, many of whom were children. 

 The Israeli army had not issued a statement regarding this incident at the time of publication, though it confirmed that the army had carried out a raid on Gaza City. 
The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that Israeli forces have killed 951 people and injured 2,984 since the ceasefire agreement was signed on October 11.

 The war between Israel and Hamas broke out on October 7 2023, following attacks carried out by Hamas that killed 1,139 people, mostly Israeli civilians, and led to the abduction of more than 200 others. 

In response, the Israeli army launched a large-scale military campaign in the Gaza Strip, involving air strikes and a ground incursion, which, as of the date of publication of this report, has resulted in the deaths of 72,961 Palestinians and injuries to 173,092 others.

 Last January, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkov announced the launch of the second phase of Trump’s 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which includes moving from a ceasefire to disarmament, forming a technocratic administration, and beginning reconstruction."
