"Hundreds of visitors gathered at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre on Saturday for the 2026 Greater Bay Area (GBA) Auto Show, where leading Chinese and international carmakers showcased the latest in electric mobility, autonomous driving and high-performance engineering. Footage shows large crowds moving through exhibition halls featuring models from major domestic manufacturers such as BYD and Huawei, alongside luxury supercars, concept vehicles and classic automobiles. The exhibition brought together industry professionals, automotive enthusiasts and global visitors to highlight the rapid evolution of China’s automotive sector. A major attraction was live demonstrations of advanced technologies, including the Yangwang U8 luxury SUV’s emergency flotation capability, drawing large crowds as the vehicle was shown navigating a water test pool. The expo also featured a wide range of high-performance and concept vehicles, from modern electric supercars with butterfly doors to classic luxury models, as well as next-generation EVs from brands such as Xiaomi, Li Auto and Yangwang. Organisers said the event reflects the ongoing transformation of the global automotive industry, with a strong focus on electrification, smart mobility and high-end design, as competition between traditional manufacturers and new-energy vehicle makers intensifies. In 2025, Chinese vehicles made up a record 35.6 percent of the global automotive market. Of 96.47 million vehicles sold worldwide, China accounted for 34.35 million units. Chinese automakers also supplied 60 percent of global electric vehicle sales that year."
