"The World Cup passion of an 11-year-old Mexican boy conquered the South African soccer team upon their arrival in Pachuca, Mexico, where the African team is fine-tuning details for their debut in the 2026 FIFA World Cup against the Mexican team. The images show Luis Hernandez, known as 'Lucho,' displaying his South African team jersey and his World Cup album autographed by the African players. 'Lucho' has been following the Bafana Bafana for two years and did not hesitate to go daily to the team's hotel to get the signatures of the 26 players in his World Cup album. "I was very happy when I found out they were coming, I thought Mexico was going to come, but in the end, South Africa came, and I was very happy anyway," 'Lucho' recounted. His perseverance caught the attention of the coaching staff and the players. "There were players who were going to pass by, but the coach stopped them to tell them to sign for me," said 'Lucho,' who also received a jersey as a gift from the South African coach. His mother, Lithzel Hernandez, explained that the adventure began when her son researched the arrival of the African team on his own. "He tells me: 'let me borrow your phone to investigate' and realizes that due to visa issues they are not arriving and says: 'well, I'm going to try to make my first video and from there we will come daily,'" she recalled. After getting the entire squad to sign his album, 'Lucho' already has a new goal: to attend the opening match of the World Cup on June 11. Meanwhile, he eagerly awaits the match between Mexico and South Africa. "Very happy because I feel it's going to be a great match because both teams are very well prepared," he stated."
