Naqvi in Tehran - Pakistan's IntMin meets Araghchi, delivers 'special message' to supreme leader

"Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Sunday. Footage captures Naqvi arriving at the venue before meeting Araghchi. Both officials can also be seen engaging in talks alongside their respective delegations. According to a statement published on Araghchi's Telegram channel, the ministers discussed their bilateral relations and exchanged views on the latest diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. The statement added that the talks also focused on Pakistan-mediated diplomatic initiatives aimed at securing a ceasefire and advancing negotiations toward a broader agreement. Naqvi reportedly conveyed a special message from Pakistan for Iran's Supreme Leader. The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28. The Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in the first week, with his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, selected as his successor. Since then, Tehran has launched strikes on Israel and US interests in the region. Iran also imposed restrictions on global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, while the US maintained a naval blockade on Iranian ports. On April 8, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran to make way for negotiations aimed at securing a deal to end the conflict. He later extended it 'until Tehran presents its proposals,' with no exact deadline set in place. Pakistan-mediated talks between the United States and Iran, held in Islamabad on April 11, wrapped up without a breakthrough. The second round has been stalled while diplomatic efforts continue."
