Will fourth time be the charm? - Keiko Fujimori votes in presidential runoff in Peru

"Presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori, leader of Fuerza Popular and daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori, arrived this Sunday at the Libertador San Martin Private Educational Institution, in the Lima district of San Borja, to cast her vote in the second round of Peru's presidential elections. The images show Fujimori entering the polling station, greeting supporters, citizens, and journalists before heading to the voting table to cast her ballot. Fujimori is contesting the Presidency against leftist candidate Roberto Sanchez in a race that will determine the country's political direction for the next five years. The leader of Fuerza Popular seeks to come to power in her fourth presidential attempt, after unsuccessfully reaching the second round in the 2011, 2016, and 2021 elections. During the campaign, the candidate has emphasized the fight against crime, economic stability, attracting investments, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. She has also promised to form a technocratic government and call on specialists to manage the country's economy. Fujimori obtained 17.19% of the votes in the first electoral round, while Sanchez secured 12.03%, in a highly fragmented election that left 33 other presidential candidates out of the race."
