MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has cut reserve requirements on a range of bank-issued instruments, freeing up more funds for investment and potentially boosting activity in the domestic capital market. Under Circular No. 1229 dated Feb. 11, the central bank reduced the reserve ratio on bonds issued by universal, commercial and digital banks to 2 percent from 3 percent, effective the reserve week starting Feb. 27.
