Houmine Al-Faouqa under attack - Smoke billowing over southern Lebanon after IDF issue evacuation warnings

"Plumes of smoke raised in Nabatieh district's Houmin Al-Faouqa on Wednesday, after Israeli military issued evacuation warning for the southern Lebanon's settlements. According to local media reports, besides Houmin Al-Faouqa IDF attacked areas in the city of Nabatieh including the vicinity of the Central Bank and the Al-Midan neighbourhood, as well as Aadshit al-Qusayr, Kfar Reman, Sajad, Al-Qusaibah and the Mahmoudia area. Earlier on the same day, the Israeli military issued a warning for the residents of Al-Ghassaniya and Houmine Al-Faouqa to evacuate into open areas at least 1,000 away, citing "Hezbollah's violations of the ceasefire agreement." The warning comes as part of IDF recurring operations south of the Litani River to 'dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure and capabilities.' The US State Department announced late last Wednesday that Israel and Lebanon agreed on a US-mediated 'ceasefire' which is contingent upon a complete halt to Hezbollah hostile operations and withdrawing all its operatives to north of the Litani River. According to the deal, pilot zones run exclusively by the Lebanese military will be established, banning all non-state armed actors, as per the US State Department. On April 15, US President Donald Trump declared a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, extending it on April 23 for further three weeks following US-brokered direct talks between Lebanese and Israeli officials in Washington. A new 45-day extension was also announced in mid-May."
