Gaza City strike - Civil Defence crews rescue four injured in Yarmouk Street shelling

"Four Palestinians were injured in an alleged Israeli airstrike on a residential building on Yarmouk Street in the Gaza Strip on Monday night. Footage shows Civil Defence crews working to extinguish flames at the site, with significant damage visible on the upper floors of the building. “Upon receiving an operating room call of an airstrike on Yarmouk Street, at the Al-Taj Building, we rushed promptly. We were close to the site. When we arrived, we transported four people, lightly injured, thank God,” said paramedic Ihab Quaider. “The Civil Defence crews have been called in, and they are trying to extinguish the flames on the targeted fifth and sixth floors. The crews are also searching for injuries or fatalities. So far, only four injured cases were reported and were transported to Al Shifa Hospital,” he added. The Israeli military had not commented on the reported strike at the time of publication. The conflict began on October 7, 2023, after Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel, killing 1,139 people and taking more than 200 hostages. Israel subsequently launched a large-scale military campaign in Gaza, which has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and injured over 171,000, according to local authorities. In late January, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced the second phase of a proposed Gaza peace plan, aimed at transitioning from a ceasefire to disarmament, governance reform and reconstruction."
