Ground zero - Emergency responders at scene after Iranian missile strike leaves huge crater in Tel Aviv

"A large crater was left in Tel Aviv after a missile fragment struck the city centre early on Tuesday during an overnight Iranian attack. Footage shows rows of burnt-out vehicles and a heavily damaged residential building, with part of its exterior wall torn away, as police inspect the scene. Magen David Adom (MDA) said the number of injured was revised from six to four. All sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene without hospitalisation. According to Israeli security officials, the strike involved a munition carrying an estimated 100 kilograms of explosives. In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said, “targets in Eilat, Dimona, northern Tel Aviv, and several bases of the terrorist American army in the region were precisely hit with multi-warhead ballistic missiles and destructive drones.” The escalation follows joint military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, carried out during ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at limiting Tehran’s nuclear and missile programmes. Tehran has since launched retaliatory strikes targeting Israeli territory and US military assets across the region, with explosions reported in several Gulf countries. Iran later confirmed the killing of its Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, after which his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, assumed leadership."
