The German discount retailer for textiles and household goods, KiK, will close hundreds of stores this year. This was announced by the CEO in an interview with the German Press Agency (dpa). By the end of 2026, the number of stores in Europe will decrease by about 225 to over 4,000, with 135 closures in Germany, bringing the total to approximately 2,200. Overall, 300 closures and 75 new openings are planned across Europe. Some stores have already been closed, with more to follow in the coming months.
