LTO-7 to issue new muffler rules, allows modified pipes within noise limits

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — The Land Transportation Office Region 7 (LTO-7) will soon release updated guidelines on authorized motorcycle mufflers. LTO-7 officials, led by Director Atty. Wendel Calinao Dinglasan, met on Tuesday, March 24, with around 50 motorcycle club leaders at Pajara Park beneath the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Mandaue City to discuss concerns on authorized mufflers and road safety. Dinglasan said the use of modified or aftermarket mufflers will be allowed again, provided the silencer is intact and noise levels do not exceed 99 decibels.
