March, April fuel cargoes secured as govt reviews supply stability

The government on Tuesday said petroleum supplies remain stable, with fuel cargoes for March and April largely secured, as it monitors global energy market volatility amid evolving geopolitical conditions. This was stated during a meeting of the overseeing petrol prices held in Islamabad under Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, according to a press release issued by the Finance Division. The committee reviewed the national energy supply outlook and noted that inventories of crude oil and refined petroleum products remain at comfortable levels. Supply chains — from import terminals to refineries, storage facilities, and retail outlets — were reported to be operating smoothly, ensuring uninterrupted availability across the country. Officials said additional shipments are planned to further strengthen supply buffers, while refineries continue to operate at regular production levels with efforts to maintain optimal throughput.
