Two people were killed Tuesday morning after a shooting near the Indian River County Main Library in Vero Beach in the U.S. state of Florida, police said, reported Xinhua. The Vero Beach Police Department said officers responded to a shooting around 7 a.m. local time at the parking lot of the library. Two people, a male and a female, were found dead at the scene, police said. Kelsea Callahan, a spokesperson for the police department, called the shooting a "double homicide." "We found two deceased adult bodies and several shell casings," Callahan said. "This was an isolated incident." Multiple witnesses told police that they had heard several gunshots outside the library early Tuesday morning. Police officers blocked off the area of the parking lot where the shooting occurred to search for evidence. There is no threat to the public, authorities said, and search warrants are currently being served in connection with the shooting.
