MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will tighten security at energy facilities following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s declaration of a national energy emergency triggered by escalating tensions in the Middle East. “We in the Philippine National Police will focus on securing critical energy facilities and maintaining peace and order,” PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement on Wednesday. Nartatez said additional personnel will be deployed in key areas to prevent any disruption or exploitation of the situation.
