Prosecutors said Wednesday they have indicted three civilians, including a graduate student in his 30s, for allegedly flying drones into North Korea. The graduate student, surnamed Oh, and the two others face charges of "benefiting the enemy in general" and violating the aviation safety law for allegedly sending drones across the border four times between last September and January this year. Of the three suspects, Oh has been indicted under physical detention after a court issued a warrant for his arrest late last month, according to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office. The three are accused of using the unmanned aircraft to take videos of North Korea after the drones evaded South Korean air defenses and flew over the North's border city of Kaesong. The charge of benefiting the enemy in general covers acts that harm South Korea's military interests or give military benefits to North Korea, regardless of whether collusion took place with the North.
